Chindongo sp. 'elongatus blue earth' Blue Earth Reef
Genus: Chindongo
Biotope: Rocky habitat. Likely inhabits sediment-poor rocky areas typical of elongatus-type mbuna.
Geographic distribution: Lake Malawi. Exact distribution unclear.
Typical adult size: Unknown; presumably medium-sized mbuna, comparable to other Chindongo elongatus-complex forms.
Sexual dimorphism: Likely present. Males probably more intensely colored than females, but details are not documented.
Recommended aquarium size: 300–400 L or larger.
Aquarium setup: Rock-dominated layout with numerous caves and crevices. Strong visual barriers recommended.
Diet: Aufwuchs-based diet. Feeds mainly on algae and associated microorganisms.
Breeding: Maternal mouthbrooder. Presumed to follow typical mbuna breeding behavior.
Aggression: High. Likely aggressive towards conspecifics, especially between males.
Special notes: Undescribed member of the Chindongo elongatus species complex.
