Biotop: Vmesno okolje.
Običajna odrasla velikost: 17 cm / 13 cm
Priporočljiva velikost akvarija: 450 L
Ureditev akvarija: Akvarij naj bo minimalne dolžine 150 cm. S pomočjo kamnov različnih velikosti oblikujmo posamezne prehode in skrivališča, med posameznimi kamni pa naj bo tudi dovolj peščenega območja.
Naselimo jih skupaj samo z mirnejšimi ostrižniki, npr. iz rodu Aulonocara, Copadichromis, Scianochromis...
Hrana: Mesojed. Prehranjuje se v glavnem z zooplanktonom in mikroorganizmi.
Agresivnost: Miren ostrižnik.
