Rod: Placidochromis
Biotop: Vmesno okolje.
Običajna odrasla velikost: 15 cm / 12 cm
Priporočljiva velikost akvarija: 400 L
Ureditev akvarija: Akvarij naj bo minimalne dolžine 150 cm. Na dnu naj bo droben pesek. Posamezna območja peska pa prekinemo z večjimi kamni.
Na enega samca je priporočljivo naseliti 2-3 samice. Lahko pa jih imamo tudi v skupinah (npr. 3 samci in 5 samic). Naselimo ga skupaj samo z mirnejšimi vrstami ostrižnikov, npr. iz rodu Aulonocara, Nyassaechromis, Copadichromis, Scianochromis, Lethrinops, Fossochromis...
Hrana: Mesojed. V glavnem se prehranjuje z raznimi mikroorganizmi.
Agresivnost: Miren ostrižnik.
