Genus: Placidochromis
Biotope: Vegetated areas.
Geographic distribution: Mumbo Island in the southern part of Lake Malawi.
Special notes: Member of a group of similar-looking species closely related to Placidochromis longimanus. Only very few individuals have been observed, and knowledge about its ecology and behavior is limited.
