Placidochromis trewavasae 'Kadango'
Genus: Placidochromis
Type locality: Transect Mazinzi Bay–Kadango, SE Arm, Lake Malawi, Malawi
Biotope: Deep-water habitat below 50 m, part of the deep-living Placidochromis species flock composed mainly of small bottom-dwelling species adapted to subdued light conditions.
Geographic distribution: Collected along the transect between Mazinzi Bay and Kadango in the SE Arm of Lake Malawi, Malawi.
Special notes: Belongs to Hanssens’ deep-water group 3, characterized by species with 14–24 gill rakers and a basic melanin pattern of vertical bars.
