Genus: Chindongo
Biotope: Intermediate habitat.
Typical adult size: Approximately 12 cm total length.
Recommended aquarium size: 300 L.
Aquarium setup: Provide sufficient rockwork with multiple hiding places. One male should be kept with 3–4 females. Can also be maintained in larger groups (e.g. 3 males with 9 females). Suitable tank mates include robust algivorous mbuna from the genera Cynotilapia, Melanochromis, Metriaclima, Pseudotropheus and Tropheops.
Diet: Herbivorous. Primarily feeds on algae (Aufwuchs).
Aggression: Intraspecific aggression can be pronounced. Generally tolerant toward other species.
