Genus: Chindongo
Biotope: Rocky habitat rich in sediment; also occurs in the intermediate habitat.
Typical adult size: Males up to 10 cm, females up to 8 cm.
Recommended aquarium size: 300 L.
Aquarium setup: Minimum aquarium length of 120 cm. Provide abundant rockwork with numerous caves and hiding places. Can be housed together with other robust omnivorous mbuna species.
Diet: Omnivorous. Feeds on algae, diatoms, and various microorganisms from sediment-rich aufwuchs.
Aggression: Aggressive within the species. Toward other species aggression is mainly limited to territorial defense.
