Chindongo sp. 'elongatus ornatus tanzania' Chuwa

Biotope:
Rocky habitat with significant sediment presence. Occurs among rocks and crevices at depths of approximately 4–25 m.
Geographic distribution:
Lake Malawi, Tanzanian coast.
Typical adult size:
Males up to about 10 cm, females around 8 cm total length.
Recommended aquarium size:
300 L.
Aquarium setup:
Minimum tank length of 120 cm. Provide abundant rockwork with many caves and hiding places. Suitable for keeping with other robust, omnivorous mbuna.
Diet:
Omnivorous. Feeds on algae, diatoms, and microorganisms from sediment-rich aufwuchs.
Breeding:
Presumed maternal mouthbrooder, as with other members of the genus.
Aggression:
Aggressive within the species. Toward other species mostly aggressive during breeding.
Special notes:
Tanzanian elongatus-type population with ornamented appearance.
