Genus: Labidochromis
Biotope: Deep, sediment-rich rocky environment; inhabits depths of approximately 15 to 35 m.
Typical adult size: Up to 9 cm (males) / up to 8 cm (females).
Recommended aquarium size: 200 L
Aquarium setup: Provide sufficient rockwork with numerous hiding places. One male should be kept with three females, though larger groups are also possible. Compatible with other peaceful mbuna and calm Malawi cichlids such as Aulonocara.
Diet: Carnivorous. Feeds mainly on insects, reflecting its occurrence at depths of 25–35 m where algae do not thrive.
Aggression: Peaceful both within the species and toward other species.
