Genus: Tropheops
Biotope: Deep rocky habitat.
Typical adult size: Up to about 13 cm for males and about 10 cm for females.
Recommended aquarium size: An aquarium volume of 400 l is recommended.
Diet: Herbivorous.
Aggression: Very aggressive within the species and also toward other species.
Special notes: Recognized as a distinct blue-male form within the “macrophthalmus chitimba” complex.
