Biotop:	Peščeno okolje.
Običajna odrasla velikost:	14 cm / 12 cm
Priporočljiva velikost akvarija:	300 L
Ureditev akvarija:	Priporočljivo je imeti veliko kamenja iz katerega naredimo več prehodov in skrivališč.
Hrana:	Rastlinojed. Te mbune so tipični algojedci (Aufwuchs), ki občasno pomalicajo tudi kak plankton in male živalce, ki živijo v peščenem dnu. V naravi se hranijo z algami, ki so na potopljenih vejah in deblih dreves v plitvih delih jezera.
Posebnosti:	Ta mbuna je ena redkih bolj mirnih mbun, tako da imamo lahko v akvariju brez večjih problemov tudi več samcev. Zaradi svoje miroljubnosti ne potrebuje prav velikega akvarija, priporočljivo pa je imeti akvarij okoli 250 litrov.
Agresivnost:	Mirni tako znotraj vrste, kakor do drugih vrst.
