Rod: Aulonocara
Biotop: S sedimentom bogato skalno okolje in vmesno okolje.
Običajna odrasla velikost: 12 cm / 9 cm
Priporočljiva velikost akvarija: 300 L
Ureditev akvarija: Dolžina akvarija naj bo minimalno 130 cm. Na dnu naj bo fin pesek, peščeno območje pa prekinimo s posameznimi skupinami kamnov.
Na enega samca naselimo 2-3 samice. Lahko pa jih imamo tudi v večji skupini (npr. 3 samci in 7 samic). Naselimo jih skupaj samo z ostalimi mirnejšimi vrstami ostrižnikov.
Hrana: Mesojed. Prehranjujejo se z raznimi nevretenčarji in majhnimi rakci, ki jih lovijo v pesku.
Agresivnost: Precej samozavesten, a vseeno miren ostrižnik, ki ga ne smemo naseliti skupaj z agresivnejšimi vrstami.
